Title: THE AWAKENED BRAIN

Dr. Lisa Miller, author of The Awakened Brain, resonates strongly with the basic tenets of Unity spirituality. Her text affirms that our spiritual nature is an inherent part of who we are. Miller's research in neuroscience reveals that every human brain is designed for spiritual connection, and when we live from that awareness, we experience greater peace, resilience, and joy. She describes the "awakened brain" as a way of seeing life through the lens of divine guidance, purpose, and oneness. This state of consciousness supports emotional well-being, and deepens our compassion, creativity, and sense of connection with each other and with God. Her findings echo Unity's principle that we are expressions of the Divine, and that spiritual awareness transforms how we live, love, and serve in the world.
This workshop is based on the work of Joanna Macy, who died this summer at the age of 96. A widely beloved teacher, a leading environmental activist,
and a prolific writer (Active Hope, Coming Back to Life, and others), Macy created a groundbreaking workshop methodology for deepening ecological connection, transformation, and empowerment that she called The Work That Reconnects. These workshops have been offered all over the world,
and they have helped thousands of people take action on behalf of a more sustainable world, becoming part of what Macy called The Great Turning.
Our "Active Hope" workshop arises from this lineage. Jo delAmor, an experienced facilitator of the Work That Reconnects and a member of its
core Weavers Team, will be joining us from Athens, Ohio for this 4-hour workshop experience.
Date: Saturday, November 1st, from 10am to 2pm (bring a sack lunch for noontime break)

FALL COFFEEHOUSE

It's time again for our annual Fall Coffeehouse, when we turn our sanctuary into a candlelit cafe and enjoy the musical and artistic talents of our members and friends.
If you've got a song to share, a poem, a painting, or a dance, let us know and we'll put you in the lineup. It's always a nourishing and uplifting evening.

GENTLE YOGA at Unity of Delaware
Notice: Gentle Yoga is on a temporary hold due to a family health situation. We will notify here and in newsletter when weekly yoga resumes.
Certified Yoga Instructor, Tamara Leeper, offers a weekly yoga class every Thursday afternoon at 1:00 pm in the fellowship room at Unity Church of Delaware, 4277 Columbus Pike. All levels are welcome. No yoga experience is required. Bring yoga mat/towel/water bottle, and wear comfortable stretchy clothes. Donation basis. Click below for a flyer with more details.
